MEMBERSHIP CLASSES
Active – Employed in the field of Commercial
Real Estate for at least three years or actively employed in a
professional capacity for at least five years in any field.
Associate – Actively employed in the field
of Commercial Real Estate for less than three years.
Student - A student in an accredited degree
program leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree in the
field of Commercial Real Estate.
Member Emeritus – Active member of the
association in any chapter of CREW for fifteen or more years,
and has either a) held one or more positions of leadership within
CREW by participation on the Executive Committee and/or Board
of Directors or b) served as an active member on one or more committees
for at least five years.
Public Sector – Active member who shall
be employed full-time in any federal, state or local government
capacity or in an economic development entity reasonably recognized
by the Board of Directors. Such Public Sector Member shall have
all of the privileges and rights of Active Members.
Retired – Active member of the Association
or another CREW chapter for a period of at least two years prior
to such member's retirement from full-time or part-time employment,
and shall have been actively employed in the field of Commercial
Real Estate for at least three years.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
Submit a completed CREW DC membership application form along with one letter of recommendation from a member of the Association and one letter of recommendation from an individual who knows the applicant professionally. See Sponsor Form section to download Member and Individual Sponsor Letter forms.
Returning or transferring members should contact the Membership Chair for reinstatement/transferring requirements.

MEMBERSHIP OPENINGS
Acceptance of new members is dependent on the availability of membership openings. Membership shall be comprised of the following categories or disciplines within the field of Commercial Real Estate:
Design – includes architecture, engineering, interior design, space planning, and environmental assessment.
Build – includes development, construction (general contractor), and construction management.
Own – includes acquisitions, investments, corporate real estate, and non-profit real estate.
Management – includes asset management, property management, and facility management.
Broker – includes leasing, sales, brokerage, landlord representation, and tenant representation.
Finance – includes finance, mortgage brokerage or banking, institutional lending, accounting, appraisal, and title and escrow.
Law – includes real estate law, land use and zoning, and other transactional law.
Promotion – includes advertising, business development, marketing, research, and media organizations.
Public Sector – includes federal, state, and
local governments, and economic development entities.
Student - includes any person currently enrolled
in an accredited degree program leading to an undergraduate or
graduate degree in the Field of Commercial Real Estate as hereinafter
defined
Vendors – includes any person providing services to the commercial real estate industry but not employed by a commercial real estate organization.
Other – includes consulting, human resources, IT, and other roles employed in a commercial real estate organization.
The number of members within the classification of both Vendors and Other together may not exceed 20% of the total membership.

For full inclusion in the online members-only directory, include
a professional picture with the application. Members accepted prior
to January 31st of each year will have their information included
in the printed CREW Network membership directory for that year.

SPONSOR LETTERS
Applicants must include one sponsor letter from an existing member of the Association and one letter from an individual that knows the applicant professionally when applying for membership.

ANNUAL DUES
Annual Membership Dues cover the 12 month period from January 1 - December 31. The Annual Membership Dues are comprised of two required parts (to be paid as a lump sum):

In addition, there is a non-refundable $25.00 application fee for
prospective members.
New members admitted after July will be billed on a half-year basis.
For existing members, you can renew your membership online through the CREW Network site. Just log into the members-only section, select ONLINE RENEWALS and then click on CREW DC to renew. Contact crewdc@crewnetwork.org if you need your password or if you have questions. If dues payment is not made within 60 days of the date of the renewal invoice, benefits of membership (i.e. program attendance at member rate and inclusion in the CREW Network directory) will not be available.
Annual Membership Dues and the non-refundable application fee are due upon submission of the application. If a prospective member is not approved for membership the dues payment will be returned.
If you believe you qualify for the Member Emeritus or Retired member classes please contact the Membership Chair.
Current CREW members from other chapters who would like to transfer to the Washington, DC chapter should contact the Membership Chair to discuss the specifics of their request.
