March Site Tours
800 17th Street, NW and 801 17th Street, NW

Merging a platinum address with LEED Platinum design, 800 17th Street/PNC
Place
sets a new bar for sustainable development in Washington. Strategically
located at the corner of 17th and H, the building features spectacular views of the
monumental skyline and tidal basin from floor to ceiling windows. Integrating
sustainability with innovative design, a climate wall of cascading water creates one-
of-a-kind lobby that refreshes and energizes the street, while the Rooftop Eco
Sky-garden combines green roof technology with outdoor aesthetics. 800 17th
Street/PNC Place brings next-generation, high-performance, ecologically focused
design to achieve LEED certification at an uncompromising location.
(Tour led by Reid Weppler of VNO/CES and Theresa Sheils of Gensler, with remarks
by Sandy Michaels of VNO/CES)

With views of the nearby White House, convenient access to the city’s Metrorail and
Metro bus systems, and luxury amenities and finishes, 801 17th Street is one of
Washington, D.C.’s most coveted offices. It is also one of the city’s greenest
buildings. In May 2009, 801 17th Street became the first office building in
Washington, D.C. to receive Platinum certification from the USGBC. Certified under
the LEED® for Core and Shell Rating System, 801 17th Street is one of just four
projects in the District of Columbia to earn Platinum certification. The project
earned 48 LEED credits. (Tour led by Sean Cahill of Louis Dreyfus)

Following the tours there will be an informal networking event on the 11th Floor of
801 17th Street.

  • 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
(please be prompt; meet in the lobby at 800 17th Street
where hardhats will be provided for the tour)
  • Members: FREE
  • TO REGISTER: Click here by March 25. Registration is limited to 30 people.
