Communications - External

  • Goal: "External" reporters - communicators with the press
  • In order to: obtain publicity for CREW Washington DC (our brand) and its members to the real estate community
  • Strategies include:
  • Obtain publicity (for the monthly programs)
  • Search out and get publicity for our members in the news
  • Search out and get articles written by our members
  • Obtain publicity for the National convention and attendees
  • Identify issues, organizations or developments in DC that our members need to be aware of or participate in

  • Reviewing and reporting CREW DC's financial position

  • Strategizing on investments and other ad hoc issues

Member Services/Networking

  • Goal: Resource of services for our members/ Provide "members only" business and educational opportunities
  • In order to: provide information and services for our members to enhance the benefits of membership in CREW/ create and promote opportunities for members to network with one another in a more exclusive and smaller setting
  • Strategies include:
  • Create and monitor job bank- locally and nationally
  • Provide data to the Committees on the "pulse" of the membership through surveys, performance reviews and analyzation
  • Promote and assemble CREW tables at major real estate events
  • Study creating a mentoring program for our members
  • Monthly networking events
  • Dine arounds at restaurants and dinners at members' homes

  • Goal: Outreach to prospective members and new members to enhance the diversity of our membership
  • In order to: attract and recruit prospective, desirable members in the real estate community, and to ensure that new members are welcomed and informed

Special Events

  • Goal: Facilitate the annual real estate awards reception and golf program.
  • In order to: promote and recognize achievements of women in commercial real estate; provide women with the opportunity to learn and play golf in a stress-free atmosphere, and to open up additional networking opportunities to our members.
  • Strategies include:
  • Develop criteria for an annual real estate award program
  • Coordinate nominations and select jury for submissions
  • Plan and execute a “kickoff event” for the golf program
  • Coordinate a series of lessons for CREW members
  • Produce the annual golf outing
  • With the assistance of the Communications Committee, publicize all of the events to generate interest and participation

Sponsorship

  • Goal: Offer marketing and publicity opportunities within CREW for the real estate industry organizations
  • In order to: raise money for our organization in exchange for publicity and affiliation with CREW

CREW Foundation

  • Goal: To encourage more women to choose commercial real estate as a career by selecting, planning and implementing CREW Foundation and CREW Network programs at the chapter level, including fund-raising activities for the CREW Foundation and CREW Network Scholarship Fund
  • In order to: Educate female students about the opportunities existingin commercial real estate, and to introduce them to the networking opportunities available through CREW as student members

    Strategies include:
    • Providing on-site UCREW programs at college and graduate school campuses to introduce students to the career opportunities in commercial real estate
    • Providing formal and informal mentoring opportunities between existing CREW DC members and students or recent graduate
    • Providing information about the CREW Foundation Scholarship Program and internship opportunities
    • Providing information about student memberships within CREW DC and other CREW Network chapters in their home cities
    • Raising funds for the Scholarship Fund and selected other CREW Foundation initiatives through chapter events

CREW CEO

  • Goal: Provide mentorship opportunities to younger members
  • In order to: Give younger members a chance to learn from our CREW industry experts while providing senior members a way to stay involved in the organization

    Strategies include:
    • Utilize a new format of site tours, with representatives from the development, legal, brokerage, design, construction and public sector teams explaining every aspect of the project development.
    • 2012 program: three tours scheduled, one each in May, June and July
    • Select three projects and tour dates, establish the teaching teams and curriculum, issue outline with essential project information to attendees prior to each session, and advertise program
