J Street Development Founder Bruce Baschuk served as moderator and kicked off the panel discussion by asking each of the panelists to give an overview of their respective BIDS. Some of the highlights included that BIDS help to shape neighborhoods; and BIDS were and will always strive to be “clean and safe”; and the Return on Investment (ROI) is pretty good overall for residents and the city.

An interesting point made my Leona Agourdis of the Golden Triangle BID is that her group spends $200 million a year on their famous Ambassador Program. Leona also mentioned that sometimes the services provided by a BID are sometimes better than what a city can provide and often times with a lower budget.

The other panelists concurred and even chuckled through their agreement.
The panel wrapped up the discussion with questions from the audience.
Again, another insightful and thought provoking panel discussion for CREW DC.
